Tracy Murray joins coaching staff of WNBA’s…

Former Toronto Raptors sharp-shooter Tracy Murray is joining Teresa Edwards’ coaching staff with the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock. Edwards said Monday that Murray “brings next level experience to our team and balances our basketball intensity while providing post experience.” Murray’s first game as a Shock assistant will be Thursday night against Chicago. Former Lakers athletic coordinator Alex McKechnie…

Alex McKechnie , who didn’t have his contract renewed by the Lakers after spending eight years with the team as the athletic performance coordinator, was hired by the Toronto Raptors Thursday. The Raptors said in a news release that McKechnie will be the team’s director of sport science. He will oversee all athletic training, rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.

Raptors scheduled to open vs. 76ers

The NBA released its complete 2011-12 schedule Tuesday despite being in a lockout that could last months and cause it to be scrapped. Owners and players are still well apart in negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement to replace the one that expired June 30, and there is a fear that regular-season games could be lost to a work stoppage for the second time in league history
